Description

Water Dragon is a 58ft semi-trad stern narrowboat built and fitted out by Riverview Narrowboats in 2001. Offering accommodation for up to six people, she has a practical layout running from the stern through the bedroom, bathroom, galley, dinette and saloon.

She features a unique convertible trad/semi-trad stern design, with roof that slides back to transform her from a traditional to a semi-traditional layout.

She is powered by an Isuzu engine and benefits from shore power, a Victron 3kW system, five leisure batteries and a separate starter battery. A diesel tank is also positioned towards the front of the boat, providing the option to install a diesel stove if desired.

The main bedroom is positioned at the stern and features a fixed double bed with useful overhead storage. Two large wardrobes provide generous space for clothing and belongings, making the cabin well suited to longer stays aboard. Steps from the bedroom lead directly up to the stern.

The bathroom is fitted with a full-size shower with a shower curtain, a pump-out toilet and a washbasin with a vanity unit beneath. There is also dedicated space and plumbing for a washing machine, providing the option to add an appliance for greater convenience when spending extended periods aboard.

The galley offers a practical workspace with a good selection of both under-counter and wall-mounted storage cupboards. Cooking facilities include an eye-level oven and grill, a separate hob and a microwave. A stainless steel sink with drainer completes the main kitchen facilities, while a side hatch alongside the galley brings additional natural light and fresh air into the cabin.

The Pullman-style dinette provides a comfortable and practical dining area, with ample integrated storage beneath the seating. The dinette also contributes to Water Dragon’s flexible accommodation, providing sleeping space for up to two people when required.

Positioned towards the bow, the saloon provides the main living space aboard Water Dragon and offers the opportunity for a new owner to furnish and personalise the area to suit their needs. Its position at the front of the boat creates a natural separation between the living and sleeping areas, making the overall layout practical for both holidays and longer periods aboard.

There are several known items that a prospective purchaser should be aware of. A few of the instrument dials are not currently working while cruising, there is no battery fitted for the bow thruster, and the horn and tunnel light are currently inoperative.

Water Dragon offers a spacious 58ft layout, accommodation for up to six people and a good range of onboard equipment. With her unique semi-trad stern, practical cabin arrangement and scope for a new owner to make their own improvements, she provides an appealing opportunity for someone looking for a generously sized narrowboat at Roydon Marina.
